Treasures of the Heart

“More valuable than treasures in a storehouse are the treasures of the body, and the treasures of the heart are the most valuable of all.”

(Nichiren, 1222-1282)

One of my determinations at the beginning of this year was to change my website and start blogging…

I have mini-blogged on my Facebook fan page regularly since February this year when the page was created and I have come to love sharing my art, other’s artists creativity, talking about my point of view on anything artistic, listening to the opinions of others and life in general.

So , if you are reading this, the time has come, I am blogging and I have a new website. Victory!

Another Hot Summer (Twitter Art Exhibit 2010)

Why the title Treasures Of The Heart?

I believe that in life the heart is what matters… sincerity, gratitude, staying true to oneself, compassion, the knowledge that when you open and change your heart the universe responds.

And the universe responded when through Twitter, I met my new great friends Jonahh and Patrick who are the reason why this new website and blog exists. I am grateful.

I want to write about anything and everything creative that touches my heart, takes my breath away, inspires me and others… painting, music, writing, poems, photography… There is so much wonder in the world.

Orange Flame (Art Swap 2010)

I made a list throughout this year of all the things I wanted to blog about, artists’ works who inspire me, the Henri Matisse and Marc Chagall exhibitions I visited this summer in Nice, some of my new work, music that rocks my world, Art Swaps, exhibiting in Norway for a wonderful cause with many of my twitter artist friends, The Paul Gauguin exhibition at the Tate Modern in London…. The list is endless.

My aim is to blog once a week … Time is of the essence, everyone leads busy lives and I will do my best! I can already tell you that next year will be the beginning of a new great adventure in all areas, my life and family, so there won’t be a lack of stories to tell , many treasures to share and I am looking forward to your comments, ideas etc.

In the meantime, please have a good look at my new website and please let me know what you think…I really look forward to your valuable comments.

Wishing you all a wonderful end of 2010 and a peaceful , happy and joyful 2011 filled with creativity and good fortune!

Annick

Annick! LOVE your blog! Your new site as well – it’s very easy to browse your work. And the pictures of your art are larger than previously on your other site which is great. (am I correct? I believe there were small thumbnails to click on with your other site). Looking forward to more of your posts!

Good wishes to you and all those you love, and with all you do in the upcoming New Year!

    Hi Annick

We’ve just had our discussion planning meeting in Palmeira District, Hove and our theme is ‘What are the treasures of the heart”. I googled it for some quotes and ideas and got your beautiful website – how mystic!

I love your beautiful dynamic artwork.

One of my treasures is a little wooden Omamori Gohonzon stand that Andy made from blown down trees on the Taplow Estate (1986).

I’ve heard it through the grapevine that you are leaving Taplow Court. I wish you everything you and Andy would wish for yourselves and much much more …..

    Lotsa l’amour

We are leaving for France in June and I hope we will keep in touch through my blog .
